On December 24, 2025, Digi-I LPP Agro Nusantara successfully held an online webinar entitled “Study of the Impact of Floods Based on Sentinel-1 SAR Images in Geospatial Analysis.” This webinar aimed to increase participants’ understanding of the use of remote sensing technology, particularly Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery, in supporting objective and data-driven disaster analysis.
The webinar session was presented by Ahmad Ihsan Mas’ud, S.Si, who explained how Sentinel-1 SAR imagery can be used to effectively detect and map the impact of flooding, even in extreme weather conditions and high cloud cover 🛰️📊. The material presented covered the basic concepts of remote sensing, the characteristics of Sentinel-1 SAR data, change detection methods, and their application in real-world flood detection case studies.

This webinar also featured spatial visualizations of flood-affected areas generated from mapping using Sentinel-1 SAR imagery. These visualizations represent the extent and distribution of flooding based on analysis of changes in surface conditions before and after the flood, providing clear and informative spatial information as a basis for decision-making.
The webinar was hosted by Rr Tiara Dyah Ayu Pramesti, S.T. as the moderator and continued with a discussion session and interactive Q&A. Participants actively participated by asking questions and sharing their views from various scientific and professional backgrounds.
The enthusiasm of the participants was reflected in the number of registrants for Webinar #10, which reached 389 people, with 185 participants attending, coming from various backgrounds, ranging from academics, practitioners, students, to disaster and geospatial observers.
Digi-I LPP Agro Nusantara would like to thank the speakers, moderators, and all participants for their active participation and enthusiasm in sharing meaningful knowledge ✨🙏. This activity is expected to make a real contribution to improving literacy and the use of geospatial technology for data-based disaster analysis.
